The developer did not have the program pre-approved by the body responsible for monitoring foreign direct investment, the "Foreign Investment Review Board" (FIRB). This means that it will be up to each non-resident foreign investor to apply through their solicitor for FIRB approval. It is a necessary formality, but the authorization is generally granted, except for exceptional reasons. The FIRB's response is given within a maximum period of one month after receipt of the complete file. If there is no response beyond this period, the authorization is deemed to have been granted.
